9th District Expanded Recycling
The 9th District Expanded Recycling program is just one strategy to accomplish our Green Triangle Community Goal:
Create a universal access system for recycling and repurposing in the 9th District, to reduce the overall waste output of the District.
Business Recycling
Through a partnership with the 9th District Metro Council office and Solid Waste Management, we are now able to offer business recycling to businesses in the Urban Services District. For a one-time fee of $50 per cart, businesses may purchase orange 95 gallon recycling carts, which will be picked up weekly by Louisville Metro Solid Waste as part of its regular routes. Here are the answers to some Frequently Asked Questions. Contact Katie Holmes to receive an order form for a business recycling cart.
Residential Recycling
We have also begun a pilot project for residents in the 9th District. Residents may increase their recycling capacity to a 95 gallon cart with wheels. For a one-time fee of $50 residents may purchase a 95 gallon black recycling cart with an orange lid. Or, for $55, residents may purchase an orange lid to repurpose their existing garbage cart into a recycling cart and a new 68 gallon garbage cart. Here are the answers to some Frequently Asked Questions.
